#3030 ACT Uh-Oh's and How to Fix 'Em

      $27.00

If you’re one of those people who doesn’t ask for directions because you'd rather figure it out yourself (you know how you are), this month's Power Hour is for you! What's the Big Deal? A lot of ACT users think, "What's so hard? Stick in a CD and upgrade or google the error message." Don't know if you've noticed, but ACT has become a *real* CRM program now. Things can and do go wrong during installations and upgrades, and that's when The Database Diva get the 911. Things can fail when we experts set up ACT, too, but we know how to troubleshoot them. First of all, we use a decision tree. Second, we have more training and experience than you. Furlough Your ACT Consultant Times being what they are, everyone wants to save money and DIY as much as they can. So Susan and I put together an hour's worth of our frequently asked (and charged for) questions, and we show you how to create your own decision tree to troubleshoot ACT. (I could barely make myself type that sentence.) These tips will be invaluable if you're tired of paying for help you think you should be able to figure out yourself. Heck, we even give you the decision tree we use. So if you are going to try to fix ACT yourself, at least you'll know how to evaluate the problem. Frequently Asked ACT! Uh-Oh's Or... Don't You Hate it When: You enter a contact, and then you can’t find it? You know you scheduled a call, meeting or to-do--or someone scheduled an activity for you--and it doesn't show up on the Calendar or Task List? Your Quick Attach icon goes away? You Lookup a fellow-ACT-user within your company and you get the error message "No records were found that meet the specified criteria"? You convert your database from one version to another and fields don’t come over, phone fields don't convert, the upgrade stops in the middle, or all old cleared activities are suddenly uncleared going back 5 years? Your PDA sync adds duplicates, triplicates, quintuplicates, etc? You upgrade MS Office, and now ACT doesn't work? A co-worker updates ACT, and now no one can open their database? You load virus protection software that's incompatible with ACT? You just downloaded a bunch of leads for a salesperson who can't see them on his remote database? Your machine has slowed to a crawl and you just know it's ACT's fault? Hey, we've only got 60 minutes in this Power Hour, so we won't be revealing every secret we know. But if you were on the clock for this hour, we'd charge up to $300. So a mere $27 to learn how to troubleshoot is a heck of a deal, don't you think?
